It has been more
than 20 years since Jim was first came to Memphis.
WRVR hired him more than two years ago to keep an
eye on the weather for us. The graduate of Michigan
State University is known throughout the area as the
Mid-South's most accurate weather forecaster. He has
a B.A. in Telecommunications from Michigan State,
and then earned his masters geography with an emphasis
in atmospheric sciences from what was then Memphis
State. Jim is also certified by the National Weather
Association and the American Meteorological Society.
Jim is heavily involved in community affairs in Memphis,
including the Make a Wish Foundation, United Cerebral
Palsy, Boy Scouts of America, Alliance for the Blind
and Visually Impaired, Alliance for the Mentally Ill,
and the United Negro College Fund. Jim enjoys cooking,
camping, reading and singing. He is married and has
three children. You can hear Jim twice an hour every
weekday morning between 5:00 and 8:30am, and again
during the drive home. Also, Jim will be on the air
anytime severe weather hits the Mid-South!
